Neil Robertson, World Snooker champion
Neil Robertson is the new snooker world champion after the final won against Graeme Dott.
The Australian dominated the last act of the competition, winning with a score of 18-13, becoming the first man outside the British Isles who wins a championship at the Crucible after a period of 30 years. The last person who managed it was Canadian Cliff Thorburn in 1980.
This is the 5th trophy the Australian has won. The other four titles are: Grand Prix (2009), Bahrain (2008), Welsh Open (2007) and Grand Prix in 2006.
However, a disappointing fact was that , except that the final lasted until after 1:00 pm, it had nothing memorable – the last act was marked by unacceptable errors for such a high level.
