Check your moles to prevent skin cancer

Melanoma is the most aggressive form of skin cancer and can appear anywhere on the body, often in apparently healthy skin, but also precancerous lesions such as pigmentation cellular nerves (moles).

Therefore, regular self-examination of the skin at least once a month is proved to detect any damage or changes occurring in the moles, suggesting a possible malignant transformation.

The augmentation of the mole’s surface vertically , discoloration, asymmetry, irregular borders, presence of ulceration or bleeding or any other suspicious changes in the skin should be examined by a doctor.

For those who have a genetic predisposition, whose families have a history of melanoma or for people working outdoors it is also necessary to control moles annually.

Early detection and treatment improves the prognosis of melanoma patients.
