Peugeot launches Golf GTI
The French car manufacturer, Peugeot, launches sporty compact model 308 GTi – 200 horsepower – with which unexpectedly invades the territory controlled by the famous VW hot hatch.
Peugeot suddenly reappears in sport compacts segment with the release of the 308 GTi, proudly proclaimed patriotic French site “caradisiac.com.
Sochaux builders today published the first official information about the model that competes with Seat Leon FR, Honda Civic Type R, Focus ST, Volvo C30 T5, Renault Megane RS and of course the famous Volkswagen Golf GTI.
The new Peugeot 308 GTi has a 1.6 liter gasoline engine that develops 200 horsepower, the same that animates and “TT” the French-named RCZ. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
