2010 Florida Election Results show Rick Scott winning the GOP nomination for governor of Florida after spending $39 million to defeat oponent Bill McCollum.
Scott’s website is currently live streaming his victory celebrations online here. Earlier, Rick & Ann Scott smiled for the cameras after entering their polling location in Naples “to cast a vote to turn Florida around.”
Naples businessman Rick Scott lead over Bill McCollum for the GOP nomination for governor, with about 804,000 Florida ballots counted by 8 p.m., having 46 percent to McCollum’s 44 percent with a third candidate, Mike McCalister, netting 10 percent.
On the other side, Kendrick Meek also won the primary against real estate businessman Jeff Green, who had a huge advertising budget.
He will now face Republican Marco Rubio and Governor Charlie Crist independent in the general election.
If Meek wins again in November, he will be the first black state senator.
