Portugal vs Spain soccer match preview | FIFA World Cup 2010
The most anticipated game of the FIFA World Cup 2010 is finally here. Two neighbours and serious World Cup contenders Portugal and Spain take on each other at Cape Town tonight. For one of them though, the World Cup dream will be over, the other will survive another day.
Portugal survived the group of death which also included Côte d’Ivoire, Korea DPR and Brazil. Portugal have been imressive throughout, having survived with a draw against Côte d’Ivoire, they gave Korea a 7-0 World Cup lesson and then drew against Brazil. Spain meanwhile are European Champions and firm pre tournament favourites.
Portugal and Spain have played each other 32 times before. Spain clearly hold the bragging rights with 15 wins compared to Portugals 5. Both teams will have near full strength teams tonight, however Spain will be missing the services of Xabi Alonso and Raul Albiol who are out due to injury. It will be hard to separate the two teams, but only one will taste victory.
