Apple unveils new iMacs, Mac Pro and Magic Trackpad mouse

The new Mac Pro seems to perform better than its predecessor, featuring the latest quad core and Intel Xeon processors, improved ATI graphics, and more important, it is available with up to four 512GB solid state drives, and prices start at £1,999.
On what concerns the iMac range changes, the entry-level iMac, which costs £999, boasts a 21.5in screen, 500GB hard drive, 3.06GHz Intel Core i3 processor and enhanced graphical performance, ideal for gaming.
The most important new products is the Magic Trackpad, a glass and aluminium “mouse” similar to the trackpad from a Mac laptop.
Costing £59, the mouse recognises multi-touch gestures, enabling users to easily scroll up and down a page or zoom in and out of images.
“Apple’s move to launch the Magic Trackpad helps bring the iPad control mechanism to the desktop computer, while at the same time educating those who have yet to sign up for an iPhone the chance to experience that control on their computer,” said Stuart Miles.
“It’s a clever move, and it’s good to see that even though Apple has dropped the ‘computers’ bit from its company name, it hasn’t forgotten its roots.”
