Pakistan Vs England 4th test, day 3 highlights
England are in a commanding position at stumps on day 3 thanks to some brilliant batting from Stuart Broad and Jonathan Trott, and a superb effort from the bowlers.
Broad and Trott continued on from where they left yesterday and ensured Pakistan were made to grind hard in the morning. They starred in a mammoth 332 run stand, the highest for the eight wicket in test match history. Broads fairytale innings came to an end on 169, while Trott was the last man dismissed for 184 as England piled on 446 runs.
To put their scores into perspective, Englands nine other batsmen managed just 51 runs between them. The next highest after Broad was 22 by Matt Prior.
In reply Pakistan managed just 74 as their batting once again crumbled. Salman Butt was the only one able to get into the 20’s. Trailing by almost 400 runs, Pakistan were made to bat again. However things did not change much and theyr were reduced to 4/41 at stumps.
Pakistan are now starring down the barrel of another innings deafeat. England meanwhile will have their tails up. This is a great boost for them ahead of the Ashes, however their batting is still a concenr.
Breif scores:
England 1st innings – 446 ( Trott 184, Broad 169, Prior 22, Amir 6/84, Ajmal 2/126)
Pakistan 1st innings – 74 ( Butt 26, Swann 4/12, Finn 4/38)
Pakistan 2nd innings – 4/41 (Butt 21, Anderson 1/6)
