Vatican – tourists banned over skimpy clothes‎

“How far is too far?” is the question that one asks usually when they want to skim the edges of the rules without actually breaking them.

In the case of the Vatican, however, we might have to ask how many rules one can enforce without abusing tolerance.

The ban that has been on seemingly “revealing” clothing in and around St.Peter’s for scores of years is, an accepted fact.

The Vatican city, however, has now barred itself from immodestly dressed tourists who wish to enter the state. Guards are reported to have taken visitors aside for donning attire that especially allows shoulders and too much of the leg to be seen.

What seems to be too regulatory, however, is that even locals, who take a quick detour into the Vatican in order to use the pharmacy, post office, and store are asked to use shawls, scarves, and
pants.
