British city council bans wearing mini-skirt to work
Britain bans wearing mini-skirts at work place because bosses fear the attire could be offensive to some families.
Southampton City Council send a memo to its 400 staff telling to dress respectfully and “carefully considre their work attire”. The memo said females wearing mini-skirts could be sent home and suggested them to wear trousers, informal dresses and skirts of reasonable length. For men the council suggests to wear “collared or polo shirts, cotton trousers such as khakis or chinos with a belt”.
However, women are planning to fight the ban saying “what is miniskirt” and “are the bosses come around with a tape measure”.
