Best Apple iPhone Apps – Star Walk, Solar Walk and Geo Walk
Today we are going to present applications of Vito Technology company. If you have any of Apple’s gadgets (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) and enjoy learning new things about our world, then you will definitely find the apps challenging.
Star Walk is a pocket planetarium, an app that allows watching the night sky as it is. You just hold your device towards the sky and it shows what stars and constellations are overhead. Besides showing the night
sky, Star Walk has complete information about stars, constellations, and messier objects. Tap any object and a window with data about it opens. For the most curious ones there is a Wikipedia link to get into the depth of the subject. You can also see rising and setting times for the sun, moon and planets and the phases of the moon.
The application is feature packed so the time you spent using it turns into a real treat. The most interesting features are Time Machine meaning that users can travel in time to observe the sky and various events and Star Spotter meaning that the display adapts in accordance with your movements. This perfectly works with 3GS. With Star Walk you can bookmark your observations and send them via Twitter and Facebook or e-mail to your friends.
Solar Walk app is a sibling application of Star Walk and it focuses mainly on the planets. The app allows you to watch the accurate position of rotating planets from any angle, touch them, spin them, observe their position in time, see their moons, read interesting data. After doing all this you will finally understand how the planets orbit
the Sun. Solar Walk boasts up-to-date information on all the planets, like internal structure, size, mass, scientific missions and more. Solar Walk has amazing graphics. Colorful planets with precise shadows against the sun move incredibly smoothly and it is possible to differentiate clouds and celestial objects on the sky. The most mind-
blowing thing about the app is its 3D mode, especially amazing on a hi-resolution screen. All you need to tour the Solar System in 3D mode is just to put on stereo glasses. The app is educational and can satisfy the inquisitive children as well as adults interested in our Solar System.
And the last app to present is Geo Walk. It is a concise and easy-to- use encyclopedia that contains only the most interesting and valuable information about our multifaceted world. It suits those curious about far away places, great people, and the most amazing living creatures. All entries in the app are provided with colorful pictures that can be viewed in a cover-flow or chosen object mode. Spin the globe to choose the most exciting object and read all there’s worth to know about it!
To conclude, I would say that all three apps are educational, fun, and interactive.
