MEXICO: debate on legalizing drugs
The President of Mexico City, Felipe Calderon said that a debate on legalizing the use of drugs will be considered as after the launched against cartels was made during 2006 there has been more than 28,000 people killed due to drug violence.
According to Intelligence Agency director, Guillermo Valdes, more than 84,000 weapons has been confiscated by the authorities and it has made total cash of $411 million US currency and at about 330 million Philippine currencies.
The statistics was released by Valdes during a meeting with President Calderon and the representatives of other business.
The purpose of the meeting was to improve their anti-drug strategy and to open a debate on drug legalization.
