Facebook: Data center to double its size

In January of this year, the biggest online networking Facebook announced the building of their first owned data center located in Prineville Oregon.

The completion of the 147,000 square foot facebook facility is set to end early next year.

Recently, the Facebook announced that they have decided to increase and somehow doubles its size by adding another 160,000 square feet on the same site.

Tom Furlong, the Facebook Director of site operations said that the purpose for their expansion is to be able to meet the needs of their business that is very much growing.

Thus the decision to proceed with phase two of their project.
