Arsenal lost third place in Premier League after 2-1 with Blackburn Rovers

On Monday, Arsenal failed to seal third place in the English Premier League. Arsenal lost the game with 2-1 from Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

Arsene Wenger’s team needed to win to make an incontrovertible lead over north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and direct qualification for the Champions League group stage next season.

However, if Tottenham win at Manchester City on Wednesday, they will move only two points behind. The win notifies Blackburn over Fulham, Sunderland and Stoke.

Dutch striker van Persie with his goal put Arsenal ahead in the 13th minute of the match.

Midfielder Dunn equaled the score just before halftime, but Christopher Samba Congolese grabbed the win in 68th-minute. Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski looked at fault for both goals as he failed to take command of the situation, which was not for the first time this season.

Also, on Monday there was another game from the Premier League. Hull City versus Wigan, and the game ended unresolved, 2-2.
