Kill operation to curb oil leak in Gulf Of Mexico

BP began a long awaited operation to seal off its ruptured well in Gulf of Mexico, raising hopes after massive crude oil seepage into the sea.

The operation “Top-Kill” involves pumping heavy mud down into the damaged well in the hopes of counteracting the pressure of crude oil.

It can take several days for the engineers to know if the procedure is effective.

BP officials warned against the hope of everything getting right soon.

But expect up to 70%of chance of success. All the efforts carried out earlier to reduce the flow have fallen short but now, the chances are quite bright to solve the problem.
