Wearing Muslim headscarves, banned by the French Government
A week ago, the French parliament voted for a resolution condemning the Islamic veil; today, France has made a step to remove it outside the law.
Hexagon Government adopted a draft law banning the wearing in public of garmets which cover the whole body of a woman. However, the burqa worn by Muslim women in public spaces could disappear only after the legislation receives French parliamentary vote spell.
Under the bill, “no one can wear in public, a dress or a scarf that covers the face.” Those who violate this provision are liable to a fine of 150 euros or courses intended to recall France’s republican values.
For the spouses or partners who force their wives to cover their face, the penalties are more severe: a year in prison and 15,000 euros fine.
