Tokyo Motor Show getting smaller

Japan Automobile manufacturers Association, organizers of Tokyo Motor Show that is ranked among prominent auto shows in the world have decided to downsize the show by moving to smaller venues and reducing the show’s span from fourteen to ten days.

Earlier, the show was held during odd numbered years in October in the Makuhari Messe convention centre. Now, the show is scheduled to be held in December 2011, in the Tokyo Big Sight which is a considerably smaller site.

The Tokyo show in 2009 was a disaster with no international automakers participating and a few displays. The 2011 motor show is expected to have displays of machinery, auto parts and commercial vehicles.
