Volcanic ash disrupts northern Europe air traffic
For the second consecutive day, Ireland and Scotland have closed the airspace because of the cloud of volcanic ash coming from Iceland, the BBC notes.
Airports Glasgow Prestwick and Derry have canceled all flights; aircraft remained on the ground. The same situation was encountered in Dublin, Belfast and Edinburgh.
Authorities have warned passengers to check at the airport if their flight is operational, especially since the situation can change from one hour to another.
In Scotland, the Aberdeen airport is the only functional airport. Last month, the same volcano paralyzed air traffic in Europe for six days.
The new problems in air traffic create uncertainties concerning flights even for the summer period when most people go on vacation.
