Nearly a month after the chaos caused by the volcanic eruption in Iceland which closed skies of Europe for many days, the cloud of ash creates problems again.
If Ireland and Scotland a few days ago held their planes on the ground because of the ash cloud, now Spain and Portugal have closed airports. A similar measure will be taken in southern France, the BBC notes.
15 airports in Spain have rescheduled their flights. It’s about Bilbao, San Sebastian, Vitoria, Zaragoza, Pamplona, La Rioja, Santiago, La Coruna, Vigo, Asturias, Santander, Leon, Valladolid, Burgos and Salamanca. Dozens of transatlantic flights were affected and redirected for other routes.
Over one hundred flights were canceled at airports in Portugal: Porto, Lisbon and Faro.
