Chinese billionaire, 14 years behind bars
Huang Guangyu, one of the richest people in China, founder of Gome electronics retail chain, was sentenced to 14 years in prison, the Xinhua agency stated, quoted by AFP.
Huang Guang a Chinese billionaire who has started from scratch, was sentenced to 14 years in prison. Huang, who was one time the richest Chinese, is accused of bribery and illegal business practices.
The Court decided that he will not just sit behind bars. The businessman has to pay the astronomical fine of 71 million Euros.
In addition, authorities have seized assets of 24 million Euros .
Named “the price butcher” for low rates charged to demolish any competition, Huang billion business was built from almost nothing.
