At what age do Europeans have babies?
The average age at which the French people are parents for the first time is 30 years, says a study site, quoted CareVox Agerpres.
According to the source, the phenomenon is far from being a recent one,it dates back a century, except for the first few years during the First World War.
If in 1970, French women became mothers for the first time around the age of 24, in 2009 this increased to the age of 30 years, and the phenomenon is far from stagnating.
Among the reasons for the postponement of first pregnancies, the study authors stated extended studies, increasing the number of women who work and need to have a stable job, a home and a life couple, show the source cited.
Behind Eastern countries like Poland or Bulgaria, where women have their first child on average at 26 years, France is still before the Netherlands, Italy or Ireland, which have an average of 31 years.
