Toyota is trying to make up for the 8.5 million defected cars

Toyota Motor Europe has launched a vast media campaign that emphasizes the professionalism and abnegation of the Toyota employees in assembling the cars.

It will be, however, not at all an easy job to convince buyers of the quality of this brand taking into consideration the 8.5 million vehicles detected with construction flaws.

In Europe Toyota has retracted 1.7 million Auris, Aygo, Yaris, Prius models off the market, recording a 20% decrease in sales in February.

The decline continued in March and April, so that Toyota managed to sell 116,756 cars in the first 3 months of 2010.

Toyota managers are hoping that the new media campaign will raise their profits up to at least 756,000 units, 84,000 less than the number initially forecast for this year.
