Unexpected twist at the rally in New Zealand
New Zealand Rally had a dramatic ending. The four special chalenges scheduled for the last day messed up the charts. Jari-Matti Latvala, Ford representative succeeded a sudden victory after a series of errors “performed” by the Citroen pilots .
Jari-Matti Latvala won victory number 75 for Ford at a time when no one expected. For 2 days Citroen pilots controlled the situation and nothing seemed to prevent a battle between Loeb and Ogier on the last day.
With this victory, Ford exceed the record set by Lancia in the World Rally. Lancia record of 74 WRC wins was marked in 1992 and lasted until today.
