US, Russia and China have imposed new sanctions in Iran
The United States have reached an agreement with Russia and China to impose new sanctions in Iran because of its nuclear program and will send a resolution to that effect to the United Nations, announced U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton today , cited by AFP.
“We have worked closely with our partners in a group of six on a draft resolution imposing new sanctions in Iran.I am pleased to announce today that we have made an agreement on a strong cooperation with Russia and China,” Hillary Clinton said before Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Senate.
“We intend to distribute the draft to all members of the Security Council today” the UN, she added.
Clinton’s announcement comes after Tehran having signed an agreement that seemed to remove the specter of new sanctions.
Iran is suspected of trying to acquire nuclear weapons under the cover of a civilian program, allegations which Iran representatives deny.
