Twitter reaches 20-billionth tweets
Microblogging and social networking site Twitter reaches its 20 billionth message on Sunday at 12:44 a.m. when a graphic designer in Tokyo posted a message on it.
The 20 milliointh message was difficult to translate exactly what the user was saying. It was “GGGGGG0_Lets_Go”.
Later the graphic designer explained what he tried to convey from the part of the long conversation. He declared, “So that means the barrage might come back later all at once.”
Immediately after the news hit the web media, people all over the world started replying the designer. He said, “It looks like I posted the 20 billionth tweet. I’m getting replies from people all over the world. It’s scary. What are the chances? Maybe I’m going to die. Is it more amazing than winning the lottery? I thought it was a joke.”
According to estimates issued by San Francisco-based company, about 8 million tweets a day is send by Japanese, which is 12 per cent of the global total.
