McAfee antivirus crashed PCs worldwide

Computers all over the world stuck repeatedly rebooting themselves after an antivirus identified a normal window file as a virus.

McAfee Inc confirmed that an update posted at 9a.m caused its antivirus program to misidentify a harmless file. It’s a replacement update for download.

And investigations are carried on how the error happened and the company will take measures to solve the problem. This problem caused a hospital in Rhode Island to postpone surgeries and treatment.

In Kentucky, state police were told to shut down their patrol cars computers as technicians tried to fix the problem
