Karzai wants the Talibans exiled
Some of the most important Taliban leaders could be sent into exile outside Afghanistan if they agree to stop attacks against the regime of President Hamid Karzai, under the peace plan that it prepares the Afghan government.
The plan provides rehabilitation and training for the Taliban who renounce exercising violence, writes the British newspaper The Guardian, quoted by Mediafax.
The long awaited Peace and Reintegration Programme for Afghanistan was unveiled in a context in which President Hamid Karzai is preparing to go to Washington for talks with his American counterpart.
