Bulgaria buys new war aircraft
A purchase contract for new fight aircraft for the Bulgarian Air Force will be completed as early as 2012, announced today, Defense Minister Aniu Anghelov during a military parade in Sofia, Novinite.com site reported.
Anghelov said that modernization of the Air Force is a “serious challenge” to the ministry.
He admitted that the project of equipping these forces with combat aircraft in November, delayed for ten years.This process has been delayed due to lack of funds, given that it was the most “expensive” acquisition of Bulgaria in the near future.
He said the leaders of the Air Force will develop a project that will present a vision for the development of military aviation in the country by the end of 2010, which will present ideas on the role and development potential based on available resources to the Government.
