Tropical Storm Earl strengthens power in Atlantic
Tropical Storm Earl in the eastern Atlantic Ocean is getting stronger and stronger on its way to the northern Leeward Islands, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.
Specialists predict the system to instantly turn northwest toward Bermuda and leave the zone of gas producing in the Gulf of Mexico.
Located about 695 miles (1,120 km) west of the Cape Verde Islands, Earl is currently moving at 16 miles per hour with winds up to about 45 mph from 40 mph late Wednesday.
The tropical storm might strengthen its power during the next 48 hours, due to become the Atlantic storm season’s third hurricane.
Officials have issued hurricane warnings for Antigua, Barbuda, Montserrat, St. Kitts, Nevis and Anguilla.
