Long working hours increase risk of heart disease
A study released today by the European Heart Journal shows that people who work three hours more than the eight hours provided normally have a 60% higher risk of developing heart problems, according to AFP.
6.014 officials in London, aged between 39 and 61 years (4262 men and 1752 women) who were heart patients were monitored for 11 years (on average) in a program called the Whitehall II . 369 of them died of heart disease, had a stroke or angina.
According to the study, men younger than the group average which occupy more important functions are those who work more the most.
Moreover, it appears that people who like the work they do and tend to work more than happy have a less higher risk of developing heart diseases.
