Khodorkovsky terminated the hunger strike
The former owner’s of the Yukos oil company, Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s hunger strike ended today, said his lawyer, Vadim Kliuvgant, RIA Novosti reported on the website.
Hordorkovski went on hunger strike because, in his opinion, “the presidential will was ignored” by the decision rendered by Judge Viktor Danikin on May 14, to extend the detention of his business partner, Platon Lebedev in Moscow until August 17.
The magnate who used to be the richest man in Russia, said that the decision violates a decree issued by the Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev, which provides that persons accused of economic crimes should not be detained in custody before trial.
