The failed attempt in New York cost only 7000 dollars
According to a U.S. report, quoted by AP, the terrorism suspect, Shahzad Faisal paid 1,600 dollars for plane tickets from Pakistan to U.S. and back and 3600 dollars for three months rent for an apartment in Connecticut.
Trap used car, a Nissan Pathfinder SUV in 1993, cost only 1,300 dollars, plus a few hundred dollars for gasoline and propane canisters and crates of fireworks that would have triggered the explosion.
Another $ 400 was spent on a rifle kel-Tec. All cash in $ 100 bills.
Experts analyze the budget closely to determine if Shahzad Faisal acted alone or was financed by some terrorist group.
After graduation, Faisal Shahzad worked as a financial analyst in the U.S., then went to Pakistan, his home. His father, Mian Mohammad Asif is an oil engineer who has written several books and technical manuals and worked for major companies like Saudi Aramco and Qatar General Petroleum.
