President of the European Central Bank says Euro is not in danger
The euro is the currency is not in danger remaining a credible threat has said, today, the President of the European Central Bank (ECB), Jean-Claude Trichet,for the German daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
“It is absolutely clears. Euro is not in danger. The movements on the market are always a combination of investor perceptions and influence of speculators, hedge funds,” the president stated about the financial institution, according to Mediafax.
Trichet declined to comment on a question about a possible foreign exchange intervention to support the European currency, which lost about 12% of its value compared to the dollar since the beginning of this year.
“I will never comment on the intervention, the ECB president said.
