Vettel driving without brakes in Barcelona

German Sebastian Vettel has revealed that he was asked to withdraw from the Grand Prix of Spain, which Red Bull team rider finished in third place , when with 15 laps before the end of the race in Barcelona, mechanics discovered a problem at the braking of its seater.

“The team told me I should come back to speakers and to retire from the race,” Vettel told the German publication Auto Motor und Sport. “I asked them if it was mandatory for me to retire. I told them I would drive more slowly in order to pick up a few m points,” continued Vettel.

“I received no reply, so I continued, and moments later I was told to keep going, but that I should be very carefully,” said the young German pilot, who ranks third in the overall hierarchy of Formula 1 after five stages.
