FIFA World Cup 2010 final: Spain Vs Netherlands preview and prediction

32 nations came to South Africa with dreams of becoming World Champions, and now we are down to just two.  Spain and Netherlands. In a few hours time, one of them will be experience glory, the other will have their dream shattered.

Spain and Netherlands have enjoyed a lot of success over the last few months. Spain have lost just two of their 32 matches under coach Vicente del Bosque. The Dutch meanwhile have remained unbeaten in the last 25 matches.

Spain are the favourites for this one, simply because of their dynamic team. They also have big names such as  Gerard Pique, Carles Puyol, Xavi and David Villa who give them the edge.

Netherlands on the other hand were not expected to make it this far.They dont have the big guns like Spain or any other top side, but the way they have played throughout makes them worthy of a spot in the finals. They are a tightly knit bunch and would like to make full use of this opportunity to write thir name into history.

Spain were pre-tournament favourites, but their defeat to Switzerland in their first group game proved that they can be beaten and this will be used as inspiration by the Dutch.

Two players to watch are Wesley Sneijder of Netherlands and David Villa of Spain. Both are on 5 goals each for the tournament and would like to extend that tally to claim the World Cup and the Golden Boot.

FIFA World Cup final prediction:

A Spainish win, 2-1.

Spain have been dull in the goal scoring department, but they have let in only two. Netherlands on the other hand have got 12 past the oppositions goal-line. Expect plenty of strikes tonight, but Spains tight defense will have the Netherlans covered.
