Steve Bannon, President Donald Trump's chief strategist, has lost his seat on the powerful National Security Council in a high-level shake-up, a us official confirmed on Wednesday.
Mr Trump fired Mr Flynn on Feb 13 for not disclosing to the President or to Vice-President Mike Pence the extent of his conversations with Russia's ambassador to the United States Sergey Kislyak, before Mr Trump's inauguration. Politico said Bannon is concerned that Kushner is trying to undermine Trump's populist approach.
Perry, the secretary of energy, was one of several officials added to the principals committee, the primary group of policy-makers for national security of which Bannon was just removed from. Trump also placed the Homeland Security Council under McMaster, instead of leaving it as a separate entity, and authorized McMaster to delegate his authority at his discretion to the Homeland Security Adviser, Tom Bossert.
Bannon may no longer be part of Trump's National Security Council, but his connections to and influence of the Trump administration haven't been diminished because of the staffing shake-up.
The move also establishes the director of the Central Intelligence Agency as a full member of the powerful principals committee and adds him to the NSC, where he had not been included in the original January 27, 2017, memorandum.
In a statement reported by the Journal, Bannon reverted to his Breitbart conspiracy theory mode, predictably blaming not only the Obama administration for his ouster, but pointing fingers at Susan Rice, the latest Obama administration figure the far-right is seeking to ensnare in its change-the-topic defense of Trump's campaign contacts with Russian Federation.
British pound jumps higher after election is called
It is an about-face from May's earlier statements about an early election, but it is hard to blame her for wanting to go early. There can be little doubt over why the Prime Minister has called a snap election despite repeatedly stating she would not.
Baidu intros Apollo project to open-source auto research
Baidu is the first among the major global technology players to open its technology and platform to the industry. Baidu's interest in the space is only a few years old, investing and researching in autonomous vehicles in 2015.
Britain's prime minister to seek early election on June 8
He was a weak supporter of the Remain campaign, and efforts by Labor legislators to unseat him have failed. May's governing Conservatives now have a slight majority, with 330 seats in the 650-seat House of Commons.
Bannon, a former executive for Breitbart News, had attended only one NSC meeting.
The New York Times also reported that the president was frustrated with the recognition Bannon was getting for his work on the Trump administration's agenda and was unhappy with liberals calling his top adviser "President Bannon".
Steve Bannon, the man who Lucifer says "gives me the heebie-jeebies" and Hitler's ghost deemed "a little too racist for me", will no longer serve on the most important and powerful foreign policy and security committee in the world.
The argument seems to be that Susan Rice turned the NSC into something it's not supposed to be (which seems right) and Bannon "de-operationalized" the NSC.
McMaster succeeded Michael Flynn at the NSC in February.
